megabus.com helps consumers beat credit crunch with 10,000 free coach seats

megabus.com, the UK's market-leading low-cost inter-city coach service, is helping consumers beat the credit crunch with 10,000 free seats.

Bookings are being accepted now on the company's website, www.megabus.com, for travel between 12 January and 1 March 2009.

megabus.com, one of Stagecoach Group's popular travel brands, carries around 2 million passengers a year on a network of inter-city services covering around 40 locations across the UK.

Brian Souter, Chief Executive of Stagecoach Group, said: "megabus.com provides great value travel all year round, but we all know that family budgets are particularly tight in the current economic environment.

"These free seats are a great way for our customers to beat the credit crunch and start the New Year with some shopping in the January sales, a visit to friends or relatives, or a short relaxing break."

The free seats are available on journeys from Monday to Thursday on routes starting or finishing in England or Wales. The standard megabus.com 50p booking fee applies to all orders and tickets must be booked at least seven days in advance of travel.
